About Sal

Salvatore Delle Palme is a tech startup and crypto veteran, poker player, artist, husband, and father of three.

Sal’s first big career move came at 14, when he quit baseball to sell ice cream from a bike cooler and flowers door-to-door. Following years of performing music on the street, direct sales, call centres, music retail, and dealing blackjack on a night shift, he found his path as a poker player. He played the game professionally for 10 years, rising to high stakes in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. In this period, he also learned some coding and launched two arts media projects, Screw The Status Quo! (2009) and Zouch (acquired in 2012).

An early Bitcoin user in 2012, Sal pivoted to crypto full-time joining Kraken in 2013. As an early stage employee he wore many hats, but focused primarily on customer service and social media. And he helped keep the company moving in the right direction through the brutal crypto winter, leaving at the end of 2016.

In 2018, Sal founded and hosted the Hamilton Blockchain series, the first meetups in the Hamilton area to feature industry speakers discussing topics like crypto tech and security, regulation, trading and investing, entrepreneurship, and NFTs.

In 2019, Sal shifted his focus to tech investing and creative side projects. He launched Artfunder in 2020, an arts media project with an eye toward promoting solutions to help indie artists thrive in the creator economy. Since early 2024, he’s been focused on a new media projects intersecting with crypto and generative AI, Bryptos and gundomode.
